Terms of Use · effective 26 September 2026

The short, honest terms.

These terms cover the Vanoor app for iPhone and Apple Watch and the website vanoor.app. Vanoor is made and published by Machán Félix, a sole trader in Budapest, Hungary (full details in the imprint below). By installing or using Vanoor you agree to them. How we handle your data is a separate page: the Privacy Policy.

Short version: try everything free for 7 days, then buy Vanoor Pro once, through Apple, and keep it forever on every device with your Apple ID. No subscription, no account, no strings. Routes and cues are guidance only — you are responsible for your own safety on the run.

1. The licence

Vanoor is distributed through Apple's App Store under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. That agreement grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, and it governs the licence itself. These terms add the Vanoor-specific points below; where the two conflict on licence matters, Apple's agreement prevails. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it.

2. Free trial and Vanoor Pro

3. Safety: guidance only

Vanoor is a training aid, not a safety device and not medical advice. Routes, maps, distance, pace, heart-rate and elevation figures come from your Apple Watch sensors, Apple Maps and the route files you import, and can be wrong, late or missing — GPS drifts, tunnels and forests block signal, maps age. Always watch the terrain, the traffic and your surroundings, follow local rules and trail closures, and never rely on the Watch alone in places where getting lost or hurt would be dangerous. Glance at the Watch only when it is safe to do so; if you need to read or change something, slow down or stop first. If you have a medical condition, talk to a doctor before training by heart rate. You use Vanoor at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of others around you.

4. Your routes and content

Routes you import, plan or record are yours; Vanoor takes no rights in them and never receives a copy. You are responsible for having the right to use the GPX files you import, and for the places you choose to run — Vanoor does not check whether a route crosses private land, closed trails or roads where running is not allowed.

5. Other people's services

Vanoor relies on Apple services (Apple Health, iCloud, Apple Maps, the App Store) under Apple's terms, and can connect to Strava under Strava's terms and Strava's API rules. These providers can change or withdraw their services at any time; if they do, a Vanoor feature that depends on them may change or disappear, and we will say so in the release notes. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or handling of your data — the Privacy Policy explains what each of them receives.

6. What you must not do

Don't use Vanoor in a way that breaks the law or hurts others, don't try to circumvent the trial or the purchase, and don't reverse-engineer, copy or redistribute the app beyond what Apple's licence and mandatory law allow. The Vanoor name, icon and design are ours.

7. Updates and availability

We improve Vanoor with free updates and may change, add or remove features over time. We do our best to keep the app working on current iOS and watchOS versions, but we cannot promise that it will run on every device or system forever, or that it will be free of errors. If a bug costs you a run, tell us at hello@vanoor.app — we will try to fix it.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Where the law says otherwise. Some countries and some US states do not allow all of the disclaimers, exclusions or limitations above, so some of them may not apply to you. Where one of these provisions does not apply to you, the rest continue to apply. Apple's standard licence agreement contains its own warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability in favour of the app's publisher; both apply alongside these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version is published here with a new effective date, and material changes are noted in the app's release notes. If you keep using Vanoor after a change, the new terms apply; if you do not agree with them, stop using the app — you can request a refund from Apple under its usual rules.

10. Law, disputes and complaints

These terms are governed by Hungarian law, without taking away the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence. Please write to us first at hello@vanoor.app; almost everything can be settled in an e-mail. Consumers living in Hungary can also turn to the Budapest Conciliation Board (Budapesti Békéltető Testület, 1016 Budapest, Krisztina krt. 99., bekeltet.bkik.hu). Consumers in other EU countries can contact the conciliation body or consumer authority of their own country. Purchases made through the App Store are contracts with Apple, and Apple's dispute rules apply to them.
